The Microwave Sprint takes place on Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 6 AM until 1 PM local time.
I am planning on setting up in EM48sq (the YMCA parking lot in West St. Louis County) with 10GHz and probably also 1296MHz stations. Depending on activities of our SLAMS microwave group, I might switch to a Rover and drive around our area to make some more contacts.

My First AVR Project
Finally tested my new AVR-programmer on programming DDS for 50MHz beacon (per OK1DX design here). Easy work with AVR Studio 5.1 (free download).
The DDS is based on a module with AD9850 that I have obtained on eBay for very reasonable price.
I intend to filter it and amplify to ~20W for omni-directional antenna this season. Hope my job schedule will allow me to do that. Preliminary frequencies are 50.0665 / 50.0670 MHz FSK or 50.0665 MHz CW.

New AVR Programmer
I have bought my first AVR programmer - always used Microchip processors before.
This comes from DIGIKEY, Part Number is ATAVRISP2-ND. Very affordable price!
Furthermore, downloaded AVR Studio 5.1 (free) from ATMEL. Works even with Windows7-64bit!

SLAMS Breakfast Meetings in 2012
SLAMS will be meeting at DENNY's on Dorsett Rd., just off I-270, again.
